BENTON, Mo. -- An early morning search warrant served Thursday by the Scott County Sheriff Department's Special Emergency Response Team and the Scott City Police Department resulted in the arrest of three men and one woman, Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said today.

An investigation by the sheriff department's criminal investigation unit revealed that quantities of various drugs were being possessed and abused at 802 Fifth St. East in Scott City.

Those charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia with a bond of $10,000 were John H. Jungers, 21, of 802 Fifth St. East in Scott City, Zachary Graham, 17, of 1500 Bloomfield Rd. in Cape Girardeau, and Courtney Gilmore, 18, of 128 Lake Circle in Jackson. Also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was Dillon Jungers, 17, of McClure, Ill., who was released on a summons.

Walter said a search warrant was served at the same address several months ago, resulting in arrests and seizures of drug paraphernalia at the time. Because of previous drug activity at the residence, Walter said that forfeiture proceedings against the property are being considered.

"This is a quiet neighborhood in Scott City and these residents don't appreciate this kind of activity, and the type of people it draws, degrading the quality of life here," Walter said in a written statement. "We will continue to hit these homes and make arrests, taking these people off of the streets, so that the other residences can enjoy their homes again."
