Scott City's 36th annual Summerfest begins at 5 p.m. today at Scott City Community Park with the opening of rides and games and illusionist Chad Bles at 7 p.m.
Friday's events include three pageants -- the children's pageant, the baby contest and the Miss Summer Teen pageant -- beginning at 6 p.m., and an adult karaoke contest and washers tournament at 7 p.m.
Saturday's festivities begin with a junior talent show at 5 p.m. and the senior division at 6 p.m. Live music by the Matt Irvin Band kicks off at 7 p.m. with a dance party afterward, and fireworks close out the festival at 10 p.m.
