SCOTT CITY - Voters here will elect a new mayor, four city councilmen, and two school board members Tuesday. Two of the city council candidates are unopposed. There are races in Wards Two and Three.
Eleven candidates are on the ballot for mayor, city council, and school board.
In Ward Two, incumbent Edith Davidson is running against Kenny Holder for a one-year term. Davidson, a retired teacher, was appointed to the council last year after the resignation of Councilman Jim Cauble.
Also in Ward Two, incumbent John Rogers is opposed by retired railroad worker, George Moit, for a two-year term on the council.
In Ward Three, incumbent Ron Oller is seeking a second term on the council. He is opposed by Joe Bles.
Ward One Councilman Ladonna Phelps and Ward Four Councilman Terry Johnson are unopposed.
Larry Forhan, a computer business owner and one-time mayor of Ste. Genevieve is running against Rodney Holloway, owner of K & R Mobile Home Park. Incumbent Mayor Shirley Young did not seek re-election.
There are three candidates for the two vacancies on the Scott City School Board: incumbents Kevin Hillemann and Tom Anderson, and challenger Ray Smith.
