SCOTT CITY -- Members of VFW Post 6407 celebrated their 50th anniversary this week. The post was founded March 4, 1946.
No golden anniversary events are planned for this week, said George Hamm, a member. But celebrations will be planned for the summer.
The group met Monday night for its regularly scheduled meeting.
Commander-in-chief of the national VFW, Paul A. Spera, congratulated the 159 members of the post for their record of community service.
More than 2 million men and women are members of the veterans organization nationwide.
