SCOTT CITY -- Angela McCloud, an eighth grade student at Scott City Junior High School, has been selected to attend the Joseph Baldwin Academy for Eminent Young Scholarships at Northeast Missouri State University.

To qualify for the academy, a student must score in the top three percent on a national standardized test, be nominated by the principal or counselor and achieve a satisfactory score on the ACT test.

The program will be held June 15 to July 6. McCloud will study preparatory college algebra.

The daughter of Gerry and Ginger McCloud, she is active in student council, band, honor roll, basketball, Star Trek club and her church youth group.
