Two Scott City residents were taken into custody Friday night after police served search warrants on three residences there, according to police chief Don Cobb.

Donna J. Jungers of 419 E. Chestnut St. and Rosemary Bradley of 429 E. Olive St. were taken into custody and face drug-related charges, Cobb said. The home at 2203 Gail St. in Scott City was also searched. The search started at 11 p.m., Cobb said, with about 15 officers from the Scott City Police Department and the Scott County Sheriff's Department.

"We hit all three houses simulataneously because we felt like if we hit one of them and not the other two, we'd lose the other two," he said.

Cobb said he would hesitate to call this a "drug roundup" or "major operation," though he said what he saw was consistent with possession of methamphetamine.

Evidence seized at the Gail Street address has been submitted to the SEMO Crime Lab, Cobb said.

"Although I do not forecast what a judge or prosecutor will do, it is probable that additional charges may result," he said.
