BENTON -- Scott City lawyer Francis Siebert filed Monday for Scott County associate circuit judge on the Democratic ticket.
Siebert is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and the University of Missouri School of Law.
He was an associate with the firm of Gilmore, Gilmore and Taylor in Sikeston in 1979 and 1980.
Since then he has maintained a private practice in Scott City. He is the attorney for Scott City, Commerce, the North Scott County Ambulance District and the Scott County Transit System.
Siebert represented Kelso from 1981 through 1987 and was the attorney for the incorporation of the Scott County Fire Protection District and the New Hamburg-Benton-Commerce Fire Protection District.
Siebert farms and is a member of the Scott County Farm Bureau.
He and his wife, Deborah, have five children. The Sieberts live on the family farm near Rockview.
Siebert is a member of the Missouri and Scott County bar associations. He is a former Sikeston Jaycee.
He is a board member of the Otahki Girl Scout Council, president of the Scott County Kiwanis and the Scott County Riverside Regional Library Board.
He attends St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City where he is a eucharistic minister. He is a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and serves as an advocate and degree team member for Council 6420.
The attorney is also a lifetime member of the Scott County Historical and Genealogy Society.
