Plans for back-to-back drug-and-alcohol abuse awareness assemblies today have been rescheduled for May 8.
Jack Bridges was scheduled to speak about his son, Shawn Bridges, a methamphetamine addict. Shawn Bridges, 35, died in a Cape Girardeau hospital March 26, 2007. He'd suffered a drug-related heart attack at 26.
A documentary of his decline, "No More Sunsets," includes friends and relatives talking about Bridges' life and addiction-related health problems.
Jack Bridges can be reached through the contact pages on his Web site, or by e-mail jc_bridges@sbcglobal.net.
He'll speak to Scott City High School students during a school assembly May 8. A gathering for the public is set for at 6 p.m. at the high school, 3000 Main St. in Scott City. For event details, call LaDonna Pratt at 573-264-2138.
