SCOTT CITY -- Lee A. "Joe" Nabors has been installed as postmaster at the Scott City Post Office.
Nabors, of Sikeston, was sworn in Tuesday by Frank King of Poplar Bluff, district manager of Post Office operations for zip codes 636, 637, 638, 639, which cover a number of Southeast Missouri areas, including Farmington, Cape Girardeau, Scott City and Poplar Bluff.
Nabors, who has been with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, replaces Deon Schlosser, who retired from the Scott City position.
Nabors joined the postal service 30 years ago as a part-time clerk.
He has served as a carrier, supervisor of delivery and supervisor of customer service, his latest position at Sikeston. He also served as officer in charge at the Hayti Post Office 10 months in 1993 and 1994.
