n On Monday, the city council adopted a resolution 7-0 adopting the National Incident Management System. The system is an emergency management system prescribed by the Department of Homeland Security. Grants for federal emergency funding are conditional on adoption of the system.

* Gary Kern, Chris Stevens and Ron Pratt were appointed to three-year terms on the park board. Ward 2 Councilman John Crail was absent.

Other business

* City administrator Ron Eskew announced an audit of the city was completed, finding no accounting violations for the city but suggesting some tips to improve bookkeeping efficiency.

* Ward 4 Councilman Ron Worl announced a meeting for later that night in the council chambers concerning changes to an ordinance dealing with how subdivisions are filed with the city.

* Park department head Phyllis Crump announced volunteers are still needed for the Oct. 28 city hayride and that the city's Halloween parade would be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 22 on Second Street.
