Area schools will hold registration and orientation sessions in the coming weeks.

Advance schools

Advance schools will begin classes Aug. 21. The first day of school will be a full day.

Registration days for high school students are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Teacher workshops will be held Aug. 19 and 20.

Cape Central Senior High

Cape Central High School will begin classes Sept. 3 at 7:45 a.m. Sophomores are to report to the auditorium at the beginning of the day for a class assembly. Juniors and seniors will also meet at the beginning of the day.

The school will hold orientation sessions Aug. 22 at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in Room 54 for all sophomores and transfer students. Students may attend either session.

New students will be enrolled Wednesday through Aug. 31. Student schedules will be distributed Aug. 15 and 16 for seniors, Aug. 19 and 20 for juniors and Aug. 21 and 22 for sophomores.

Approximately 1,000 students are expected to begin classes.

Cape Central Junior High

Cape Central Junior High classes begin Sept. 3 at 7:45 a.m. The first day is a full day.

Orientation for new students will be held Aug. 27. The session for new students with last names beginning with the letters A to K will meet at 9 a.m., and the session for new students with last names beginning with the letters L to Z will meet at 10:30 a.m.

Chaffee schools

Chaffee schools will begin classes Aug. 26. The first day of school will be a full day, with classes starting at 8:05 a.m.

Pre-registration days will be held Aug. 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. for seniors and 1 to 3 p.m. for juniors, Aug. 15 from 9 to 11 a.m. for sophomores and 1 to 3 p.m. for freshmen and Aug. 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. for eighth graders. Seventh grade orientation will be held Aug. 16, beginning at 1 p.m.

Elementary school students who have not yet registered should do so at the elementary school between Aug. 14 and 16.

Delta schools

Delta schools will begin classes Aug. 21. The elementary school will dismiss at 1:06 p.m. and junior-senior high will dismiss at 1:11 p.m.

New elementary students may register Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon at the elementary school.

New junior-senior high school students should enroll in the high school counselor's office Aug. 15 and 16 between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Seventh grade orientation will be held in the high school band room at 8:15 a.m. on the first day of school.

Schedules will be handed out on the first day of school. Teacher workshops will be held Aug. 19 and 20.

Immaculate Conception

Immaculate Conception School will begin classes Sept. 3 at 8 a.m. The first day of school will be a full day.

Kindergarten orientation will be held Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. Teacher in-services will begin at 9 a.m. on Aug. 21 and 22.

Jackson schools

Jackson schools will begin classes Aug. 22. The first day of school will be a full day.

Registration for high school students is being held this week. Junior high registration will be held, beginning Monday.

Elementary school registration will be held Aug. 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Grades kindergarten to three should report to Orchard Elementary School and grades four to six should report to Westlane Elementary.

Kelly schools

Kelly schools begin classes Sept. 3 for a full day. Classes being earlier in the day than last year, at 8:10 a.m. They will dismiss at 3:10.

Registration for all students will beg Aug. 19 through 22.

Kelso School

Kelso School at New Hamburg will begin classes Sept. 3. The first day of school will be a full day, beginning at 8:15 a.m.

Registration for all students will be held Aug. 28 and 29.

Meadow Heights schools

Meadow Heights will begin classes Aug. 19. Classes will be held from 7:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. through the first couple of weeks of school.

Any student who has not yet registered can do so during morning hours until the first day of school.

Nell Holcomb School

Nell Holcomb School will begin classes Sept. 3 at 8:30 a.m. The first day will be a full day.

Any new students should contact the school as soon as possible at 334-3644 to register.

A teacher workshop will be held Aug. 28 and 29, beginning at 8 a.m.

Notre Dame High School

Notre Dame High School will begin classes Aug. 22. The first day will be a full day.

Two teacher in-service days will be held Aug. 19 and 20. Orientation for freshmen will be held on the morning of Aug. 21.

Oak Ridge schools

The Oak Ridge School District will begin classes Aug. 16. The first day will be a full day, from 8:20 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.

Registration for new students to the district is being held this week.

All junior-senior high school students should also report to school Tuesday to pick up their schedules between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the principal's office. All seventh grade students should report to school Tuesday at 1 p.m. for Seventh Grade orientation.

Oran schools

Oran schools will begin classes Aug. 23. The first day will be a full day, beginning at 8:20 a.m..

Teacher orientation is being held Aug. 21 and 22.

Perryville Public Schools

Perryville Public Schools will begin classes Aug. 19 for a full day of classes.

High school students grades 10 to 12 should pick up their schedules from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. any day this week. Freshman orientation will be held today from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Scott City Schools

Scott City Schools will begin classes Aug. 26. The first day is a full day.

New student enrollment will be held Aug. 14 and 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

St. Mary's Cathedral Grade School

St. Mary's Cathedral Grade School will begin classes Aug. 26 for grades one to eight and Aug. 27 for kindergarten.

Registration will be held until the first day of classes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Teacher workshops will be held Aug. 21 and 22.

St. Paul's Lutheran School

St. Paul's Lutheran school will begin classes Aug. 19. The first day of school will run from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Teacher workshops will be held Aug. 15 and 16.

St. Vincent schools in Perryville

St. Vincent schools will begin classes Aug. 19. The high school now holds grades seven to 12.

A freshman orientation "Hello Picnic" will be held Aug. 16 from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Perryville city park.

Teacher in-service days will be held Aug. 14 and 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

St. Vincent de Paul Grade School

St. Vincent de Paul Grade School will begin classes Sept. 3 at 7:50 a.m. Classes that day will be dismissed at noon.

Final registration for returning students will be held Aug. 18. New students can register Aug. 18 to 30.

Two teacher in-service and orientation days will be held Aug. 29 and 30.

Trinity Lutheran School

Trinity Lutheran School will begin classes Aug. 26. The first day of school will be a full day.

Woodland schools

Woodland will begin classes Aug. 19. The first day of school will be a full day. Teacher workshops will be held Aug. 14, 15 and 16.

Egyptian

Egyptian schools in Illinois will begin classes Aug. 20. School will be dismissed on the first day at 10 a.m. The first full day will be held Aug. 21. A teacher's meeting will be held Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Meridian

Meridian schools in Illinois will begin classes Aug. 20. The first day of school will be a full day.

Students grades eight to 12 can pick up their schedules Tuesday.

A teacher's meeting will be held Aug. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Century Schools

Century School District in Ullin, Ill., begins classes on Aug. 23, when students will register and be dismissed before noon. The first full day will be Aug. 26.
