Area school districts soon will be holding kindergarten registration and preschool screenings for the upcoming school year. The screening helps parents monitor the development of their child and establish partnerships with the schools.
Parents are asked to bring a copy of the child's birth certificate, immunization record and social security number to the screening appointment. Children who will be 5 years old by July 1 are eligible for kindergarten enrollment.
Egyptian School District in Illinois will hold two-day screenings Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. For an appointment, call 618-776-5875 or 618-776-5251.
The Nell Holcomb School District will hold its screening March 20 at Hobbs Chapel in Highway 177. For more information or to make an appointment, call 334-3644.
The Kelso C-7 School District in New Hamburg will hold its kindergarten registration on March 28 at 7 p.m. at the school. Screening tests will be held April 22-26; appointments can be made during registration.
