A special meeting of the Cape Girardeau Board of Education, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Monday, was canceled early Monday afternoon.
James Englehart, director of secondary education, said board members had scheduling difficulties that did not allow them to attend the meeting.
The special meeting had three items on its agenda: a report from a school committee regarding elimination of a half-time band director, one of the district's recent budget cuts; approval of an eight-point salary package for the coming school year; and a closed meeting.
Englehart said he expects these agenda items will be added to the agenda of the regularly scheduled board meeting to be held next Monday at 4:30 p.m.
