High school music students are eligible to apply for a Governor's Scholar Award to the Interlochen Arts Camp in northern Michigan.
The scholarships are paid through a grant by Emerson Electric Co.
The award is a $3,100 scholarship, which provides full tuition, room and board for the eight-week summer program. Applications are being accepted through Jan. 21. Winners will be announced March 1.
Applicants must be in grades 9-12 and be proficient in violin, viola, cello, bass, harp, wind or percussion instruments. Applicants must submit a taped solo performance with the application and a $30 processing fee.
One student from each state will be selected as 1992 Governor's Scholars. Winners are determined solely on merit.
Each year more than 2,500 students from around the world attend Interlochen arts camps.
