High school students with a grade point average of "B" or better and who are U.S. citizens interested in applying for $1,000 college scholarships should request applications by Dec. 15 from Educational Communications Scholarship Foundation, 721 N. McKinley Road, P.O. Box 5012, Lake Forest, IL 60045-5012.
To receive an application, students should send a note stating their name, address, city, state, zip code, approximate grade point average and year of graduation.
All requests for applications will be fulfilled on or about Jan. 3.
Some 150 winners will be selected on the basis of academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities and some consideration for financial need. A total of $150,000 will be awarded.
