Loretta A. Schneider of Cape Girardeau has received a doctorate in education, with an emphasis in higher education administration and leadership, from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
She received the degree at commencement ceremonies on May 17.
To complete the final requirements for the Ph.D., she conducted a research project on the role of five Midwestern universities on economic development of their regions.
Schneider is assistant director of career planning and placement at Southeast Missouri State University.
She is married to John Schneider, who is retired from the Southeast faculty. They live at 3249 E. Lakewood, are the parents of four married children, and have one grandchild.
