Steve Schaffner and Steve Pirtle will provide Nashville string music and Carol Keeler, KZIM talk show hostess, will serve as celebrity conductor as the Cape Girardeau Municipal Band embarks on its eighth summer concert Wednesday.

The concert, which will take place in the band shell at Capaha Park, begins at 8 p.m.

Other segments of the program include variations on "A Mighty Fortress is our God," "Lassus Trombone", Gershwin's "American in Paris", and melodies from Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of the Opera."

Barry Bernhardt, director of the Southeast Missouri State University Golden Eagles Marching band, will conduct the concert.
