Two Scott City scouts recently earned the highest rank given in the Boy Scouts of America organization.

Brandon Swanner and Gary Poyner Jr., both members of Troop 29, recently were promoted to Eagle Scout. Both boys completed a service project before earning the award.

Swanner designed and constructed a Veteran's Memorial Wall at the city park in cooperation with the Kiwanis Club. The club will maintain the wall.

Poyner's project was to stencil and paint 35 storm drains in the city. The stenciled message read, "Dump No Waste/Drains to Stream."

Swanner is a senior at Scott City High School. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Swanner.

Poyner is a junior at Scott City High School. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Poyner Sr.
