Baker received the Commissioner's Sunbeam Award Friday during a Court of Honor at the Salvation Army from Rita Summit, divisional guard director from St. Louis. A number of youths received awards.

The Sunbeam Award is held only by 4,220 girls nationwide.

God and Country Awards were presented to 10 youths, including Baker, Kiesha Cendroski, Kylena Fleming, Christina Gauthier, Mandy Hanebrink, Sarah Hanebrink, Pauline Lizenbee, Constance Smith, Jadyn Smith and Garmiesha Terry.

The Guard and Sunbeam programs are character building programs open to all girls between ages six and 18. For information, call 335-7000.
