The Cape Road Runners will hold a one mile run/walk at 5 p.m. Sunday just before the rescheduled Christmas Parade of Lights. It will start at Capaha Park on Broadway and finish at Main Street. The event will benefit the Toybox charity sponsored by the Cape Jaycees and the Southeast Missourian to provide new toys for needy children. All participants must be able to finish the mile course in less than 15 minutes. Participants may preregister by Friday with a $5 minimum cash donation to Toybox or a new toy delivered to the Southeast Missourian at 301 Broadway. A $10 donation or a new toy will be required if you register from 4 to 4:30 p.m. the day of the event. All participants will receive commemorative Christmas ornaments. Overall male and female winners will receive a one-year subscription to the Southeast Missourian. First place winners in age categories will win one-month subscriptions.
