MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Illinois Route 37 will be closed for repairs at the railroad crossing in downtown Mound City next week.
An Illinois Central Railroad construction crew will start work at the site Monday at 8 a.m.
Work is expected to take about five days.
"The road should be reopened to traffic Oct. 20," said Karl Bartelsmeyer, District 9 engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation.
A detour will be marked in Mound City, along High Street and North First Street.
