A mother and her two daughters will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jackson Municipal Band concert at the band shell in Jackson's city park.

Marilee Roethemeyer, wife of the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer, pastor of Emanuel United Church of Christ, and her two daughters, Beth, a senior voice major at Southeast Missouri State University, and Christy Shinn, a music teacher in the Jackson School District, will be the band's special guests.

Most recently, Marilee and Beth were selected as soloists when the Missouri Ambassadors of Music toured Europe. They performed in various cathedrals across the continent. Shinn was chosen as accompanist for the group as well as a member of the choir.

Marilee works with various choirs at her church and sings as a soloist for many civic and church activities. Beth has performed throughout the Midwest as a soloist and with various groups. Shinn is recognized, not only as a fine vocalist, but also as one of the premier accompanists in Southeast Missouri.

The band's portion of the concert will include "Heritage Hills" and a collection of hits by Broadway composer Richard Rogers. "Haskall's Rascals" will feature the percussion section, and "Tuba Tiger Rag" will feature the tubas. Marches as well as an abundance of classic rock n' roll numbers will, as usual, present a musical cornucopia for all tastes.

Entrance to the band shell parking lot is on Route D, across from McCombs Funeral Home.
