Mississippi River bridge closing for a week

WICKLIFFE, Ky. -- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a bridge over the Mississippi River near Wickliffe in far western Kentucky will be closed during the day. The U.S. 60-62 bridge carries traffic between Alexander County, Ill., and Mississippi County, Mo. The closure continues through 5:30 p.m. Friday. The bridge will be open to all traffic from 5:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night. The shutdown is necessary for a required annual safety inspection.

I-55 in Scott County reduced for bridge inspection

North- and southbound Interstate 55 in Scott County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform a routine inspection of the bridge over Ramsey Creek. The work will done Wednesday, from 9 to 11 a.m. on the southbound lanes, and from noon to 3 p.m. on the northbound lanes, according to a news release from MoDOT.
