South Old Orchard Road in Jackson will be closed Monday between Bainbridge Road and County Road 306 as crews conduct engineering work, including drilling operations, at the Williams Creek Bridge. The road will be closed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. to all but local traffic, according to the Public Works Department of the city of Jackson. Through traffic will be detoured around the site as follows: From the intersection of Bainbridge Road at South Old Orchard Road, drivers will go north on South Old Orchard, east on East Main Street/LaSalle Avenue, south on Veterans Memorial Drive, and west on County Road 306 back to South Old Orchard. From the intersection of South Old Orchard Road at County Road 306, the above direction of the detour route is reversed. Motorists are asked to use caution at all times along the detour route and to obey all warning signs. For more information, contact Public Works director Rodney Bollinger at 243-2300.
