The library's "Kids on Saturday" program will be "Exploring Science" at 1 p.m. at the Jackson branch for children 9 and older.
The annual summer reading program is a way for children, from toddlers to teen-agers, to continue reading over the summer.
The Jackson book discussion group will meet at 7 p.m. July 2 at the library.
The group is reading "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte and "The Green Mile" by Stephen King.

Library trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Perryville branch library.
The Friends of Riverside Regional Library is a group of interested citizens who donate their time and talent to help raise funds for the library to purchase books, videos and equipment, and to hire performers for children's programs.
People can pick up membership forms at library branches. Annual dues are $5 for an individual, $10 for a family, or $25 for a corporate membership.
The library offers in-house Internet and e-mail access. Children and young adults without a driver's license must have a parent's signature. A library card is not required for Internet use, but the library asks users to sign an agreement to the library's Internet use policy.
There are six branches at 204 S. Union St. in Jackson, 800 City Park Drive in Perryville, 66 Poplar St. in Altenburg, 2016 Main St. in Scott City, U.S. 61 in Benton and 120 Mountain St. in Oran.
