Greg Talbut, president of the Riverfest Board of Directors, said Riverfest has grown a great deal in the 14 years since the first Riverfest was held in downtown Cape Girardeau. Hundreds of volunteers are needed each year to plan and conduct the annual festival, which in 1992 is set for June 12-13.

"We have sent out hundreds of invitations to the membership information party, but you don't need an invitation to attend," Talbut said.
