PORTAGEVILLE -- For the first time ever, those at the University of Missouri Delta Research Center's annual field day, Sept. 2, will be able to eat breakfast and lunch in comfort. After breakfast a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 8:30 a.m. to mark the opening of G.W. "Son" Rone Exhibit Hall.

Field day will feature tours, exhibits, presentations, plots and preliminary research results.

Agriculture dealers, health care providers, radio stations and other exhibitors will erect display booths in the 235-by-60 foot Rone Hall, located at the Lee Farm near Portageville. The building will also have a full kitchen and a room to display historical and agricultural artifacts from the region.
