Reward offered in construction-site thefts

After a series of thefts that occurred at Saint Francis Medical Center on Dec. 30, Kiefner Brothers Construction Co. is offering a reward for information leading to arrests.

About 9:30 a.m. Dec. 30, officers from the Cape Girardeau Police Department were dispatched to the construction site at the medical center after a report that construction tools and equipment had been stolen. Four different construction companies working on the building reported having items stolen, according to a news release from the police department,

There are no suspects in custody at this time and the case is still under investigation.

Kiefner Brothers is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any suspect or suspects that is responsible for the thefts. The news release specifies that Kiefner Brothers is solely responsible for any payouts of reward money.

The police department asks anyone with information about the theft to contact the Cape Girardeau Police Department at its CrimeStoppers line, 339-6312, or the anonymous tip line at 339-6313.
