RETURNS FOR VISIT

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Jay Burchfield, chairman and CEO of Boatmen's National Bank of Springfield, former president of Boatmen's National Bank of Cape Girardeau, was a visitor here Thursday.

Burchfield, who moved to his position at Springfield four years ago, has taken on some added responsibility with the company.

Four additional Boatmen's National Banks Cape Girardeau, Kennett, Butler, and Nevada will be reporting to Burchfield.

A dozen banks, all south of Interstate 70, now report to Burchfield. The 12 banks represent assets totaling more than $2.1 billion.

Burchfield reports directly to Andy Craig, chairman, CEO, and president of Boatmen's Bancshares Inc.
