Travelers in Scott and Cape Girardeau counties should anticipate delays on Interstate 55 today through Sunday as routine repairs are made to the Route AB overpass. Southbound I-55 traffic will be shifted to the northbound lanes with a 12-foot width restriction from north of the Diversion Channel to south of Route AB. The lane reduction will be in place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. When work is not underway, the southbound lanes of I-55 will be open. Additionally, Route AB will be reduced to one lane. Signs and warning devices will be in place as improvements are underway. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
