CAIRO, Ill. -- The Cairo bridge carrying U.S. 60/62 over the Mississippi River between Illinois and Missouri will be closed to traffic beginning March 16, as crews make major repairs to the structure. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the closure is anticipated to be in place until March 18, 2016. Motorists will be required to use alternate routes.
