SCOTT CITY -- The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin pavement repairs on the Interstate 55 and Route M interchange on Tuesday.
Traffic wil be restricted to one lane between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the area while construction proceeds, weather permitting.
"We plan to close the one lane only during non-rush hour on Tuesday and plan to be done with the project by Wednesday afternoon," said Randy Hitt, a state engineer.
The improvements are for resurfacing the roadway to allow for signal loops to be installed.
The work zone will be marked, and signals will be used for warnings.
