The Rev. John J. Leibrecht, bishop of the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Roman Catholic Diocese, will celebrate the 5 p.m. Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson. During the service, 59 teenage candidates for confirmation will be presented.

Sunday

Christmas cantata at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

The Rev. Steve Sampson is guest speaker at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. services at Christ Church of the Heartland.

Christmas festival at 10:30 a.m. at Lynwood Baptist Church, presented by the Celebration Choir and Orchestra and Children's Choir.

Christmas candlelight service at 4 p.m. at St. James United Church of Christ near Tilsit.

First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau will present an Adventour of Homes beginning at 5:30 p.m. Church members will gather for a light supper in the church fellowship hall and then tour several homes as well as work on mission projects for the Safe House for Women and packages for shut-in members.

Cape First Assembly will hold its Christmas musical at 6:30 p.m.

Children's Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. in the worship center at St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

Christmas at Hobbs service at 6:30 p.m. at Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Children's choir program at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Monday

Rebekah Circle of Centenary United Methodist Church will hold a Christmas dinner and baby shower for the Susanna Wesley Family Learning Center at 6:30 p.m. Anyone attending is asked to bring an unwrapped gift for a child age 2 or younger. Respond to Becky Harding at 335-1944.

Tuesday

United Methodist Women of Third Street Church will meet at 1 p.m. at the home of Darlene Williams. Rosetta Davis will be in charge of the program. Christmas carols will be sung and the church's Christmas program will be discussed.

Susanna Wesley Circle of Centenary United Methodist Church will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Limbaugh Parlor at the church. Betty McCalister will present the program. Dorles Massey will give a devotion. Hostesses are Avon Crocker and Dorothy Miles. The Wimodausis Circle will meet at 2 p.m. at Chateau Girardeau. Alice Harnes will give a program on Christmas bells. Ruffena Holladay and Shirley Stevens are hostesses.
