Pagan Pride Day at 10 a.m. at Cherokee Park in Cape Girardeau. Admission is nonperishable food or household supplies to be donated to Safe House for Women. Autumn Equinox Ritual will be observed at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel will host a movie "Road to Redemption" at 7 p.m. The film is produced by Billy Graham ministries. Popcorn and soda will be provided. There is no admission charge.
Sunday
Dr. C. John and Marcia Ritter will speak at 10:45 a.m. worship at Maple United Methodist Church.
Centenary United Methodist Church will celebrate "United Methodist Women Sunday." Jerry Ruth Williams of Chesterfield, Mo., will speak at the 8 and 10:45 a.m. worship services.
U.S. District Judge Stephen Limbaugh will be guest speaker at the 9:15 a.m. service at First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau. The meeting will be held in the second floor church library. Limbaugh will speak about the impact of biblical studies on his career and life.
Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran, Mo., will hold an open house beginning at 9:30 a.m. Worship begins at 10:45 a.m., and a lunch will be served after the service.
Bishop Janice Riggle Huie will speak at a 3 p.m. meeting at the historic Old McKendree Chapel. Huie serves in the North Arkansas and Little Rock United Methodist conferences. Music will be provided by Salvation's Well, a praise band from First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, Mo. Visitors are asked to bring lawn chairs to the outdoor service. In case of rain, the service will be held inside the chapel.
A homecoming service will be held at Free Trinity Pentecostal Church in Randles, Mo. Dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. with singing at 2 p.m. featuring The Gabriels.
First Church of God in Cape Girardeau will hold its annual Super Sunday Rally with special skit and worship. A lunch will be served in the family center and special singing will follow, along with Christian magic.
The church also will begin a video series on dating at 6 p.m. The series will deal with the positives and negatives of dating and finding a mate. For information, call 335-7865.
Monday
Young at Hearts will meet at 11 a.m. in the lower auditorium at First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. Program is by Julie Metsger, social service coordinator at Southeast Missouri Hospital. A potluck meal will follow.
Friday
Church Women United will hold an Awareness Luncheon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau. Participants are asked to bring a salad to share. Proceeds from the lunch will support a vocational-technical scholarship in the community. The event is a forum for learning about local needs and opportunities for mission work. Fall fish dinners will be held at Knights of Columbus upper hall in Scott City, Mo. Serving is from 4-7 p.m. and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 6-12. Carry-outs are $7. Proceeds will benefit Scott County area parishes and Knights of Columbus charitable programs.
