Church sends members as missionaries
Red Star Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau recently sent four volunteers to a province in the Philippines for a prayer walk for clinics on Aug. 9 to 13. The volunteers attended local churches, participated in prayer walks and Bible studies and toured local ministries. The team included Diana Curry, Janice Ham, Crystal Sexton and Phyllis Wood. The group was accompanied by Jeremy Brewster and his 13-month-old daughter from First Baptist Church in West Plains, Mo. Brewster's parents have been missionaries in the Philippines for 27 years. The prayer walking trip meant the group walked through neighborhoods praying as they walked. The five barrios along with Filipino staff who would be hosting the medical clinics were on the list for prayers. The Red Star group also donated candy, balloons and bookmarks to the region's clowning ministry.
