Prayer patrol prepares to meet at La Croix
Participants in the prayer patrol a La Croix United Methodist Church will meet, some for the first time, this weekend.
Over the past few weeks, children have been praying for police, firefighters and emergency workers as part of a ministry program sponsored by the church.
The groups will meet for a reception and luncheon at noon Sunday.
The program has helped teach the importance of prayer and has worked as an outreach ministry of the church, said organizer Marsha Edwards.
The children enrolled in the program have been paired with a partner, usually one per family.
Australian evangelist to speak at church
Australian evangelist Bill Newman will be the guest speaker next Sunday during worship services at Cape Bible Chapel.
