Registration for a "Success that Matters" seminar to be held at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson is due Monday

Local beach party linked to Florida youth event

Area youths can join thousands of their peers March 22 for a celebration in south Florida with "Beachfest with Luis Pulau." The satellite broadcast of the beach party begins at 6 p.m. at The Shed.

Admission is free. The program will be emceed by Ron Luce, a popular youth speaker, and will include music from Third Day and tobyMac.

The event in Fort Lauderdale is expected to draw 100,000 youth.

Lutheran church leader to speak on campus

The Rev. Daniel Preus, first vice president of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, will be speaking at 3 p.m. Sunday on the theme "Lutheran identity" at the Chapel of Hope on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. After the presentation, there will be time for questions.
