Christmas cantata at Trinity Lutheran

The choirs of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau will present "The Winter Rose," a cantata, at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services on Dec. 15.

The public is invited to the musical celebration.

Atheism v. Christianity debate via satellite

Fruitland Community Church in Fruitland, Mo., will present a satellite broadcast from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The broadcast includes comments from Dr. Michael Newdow, who sued to remove the words "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance, and Cliffe Knechtle, a Christian speaker.

The satellite broadcast is part of the Church Communication Network. The hosts for the broadcast are Lee Strobel and Mark Mittelberg.

Christ Church to feature evangelist guest minister

The Rev. Steve Sampson, an evangelist and author, will be the guest minister at the 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. worship services Dec. 15 at Christ Church of the Heartland.

Children's choir program presented at Red Star

The children's choir of Red Star Baptist Church will present "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 15 at the church.

Christmas program held at Hobbs Chapel

Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church will hold a Christmas program at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at the church, which includes a segment with puppets. A fellowship will follow the service.

Musical Christmas celebration at Lynwood

The musical "A Christmas Festival" will be presented at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 15 by the Celebration Choir and orchestra and Children's Choir at Lynwood Baptist Church.

Children's concert program at St. Andrew

St. Andrew Lutheran Church will hold a children's Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in the worship center at the church.

Special Christmas service at Trinity Lutheran

Trinity Lutheran Church will hold a special Christmas service at 10 a.m. Wednesday for anyone who isn't able to attend Sunday worship services.

The service will include carols and the Christmas story from Scripture. Refreshments will be served before and after the service. For information or a ride, call the church office at 335-8224.
