Disciple Now event planned at First Baptist

Jackson First Baptist Church will hold Disciple Now Feb. 17 to 19. The event begins with a rally Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. and is followed by a weekend of activities for students in grades 6 through 12. The deadline for registering is Feb. 1.

Cape County Christian Women to meet Feb. 13

The Cape County Christian Women's Club will meet Feb. 13 at the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau for a luncheon. The theme for the meeting is "Be our Valentine." For more information or reservations, call Helen Jackson at 204-0664.

Phil Baquie and band to play at Centenary UMC

Phil Baquie & Band will perform at Centenary United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Feb. 3. For more information, contact the church at 334-2869.

Sausage breakfast set at St. Ambrose on Feb. 5

The Men of St. Ambrose will hold a sausage breakfast Feb. 5 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the St. Ambrose Parish Center in Chaffee, Mo. Whole-hog sausages, eggs, biscuits and gravy will be served.

Stonecroft studies offered locally

Twelve Stonecroft non-denominational Bible studies are being offering locally, including studies of "Genesis 2," "Knowing God's Will" and "History of the Bible" on various days of the week. The studies are in small groups in an informal setting and are open to anyone. College handbell choir to play at Grace United

The William Jewell College Handbell Choir will perform Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. The program includes a wide range of music, including sacred arrangements of "Ein Feste Burg" ("A Mighty Fortress is Our God") and "Of The Father's Love Begotten." Some of the secular compositions on the program include "Cathedrals," "Reflections," "Sleigh Ride" and "Showdown!"
