Stoddard County accident kills two teenagers

BROWNWOOD, Mo. -- Two Stoddard County teenagers are dead following a two-car accident Monday night in Stoddard County. Nancy Abila, 15, of Advance, Mo., and 16-year-old Phillip Pounds of Bloomfield, Mo., were killed when a car driven by Abila ran off Route BB near Brownwood, Mo., overcorrected into the oncoming lane and was struck by a vehicle driven by Larry Sadler, 38, of Advance. Sadler was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center with severe injuries.

Deadline for Scott Co. ag scholarship this week

BENTON, Mo. -- Scott County Women in Agriculture will award a $500 scholarship to a 2005 high school graduate whose family is involved in farming or agribusiness in Scott County. The deadline for applications is Friday. For more information, call Kay Dover at (573) 545-3593.
