Armed suspects rob Cape Girardeau KFC
Two men robbed the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Cape Girardeau shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Cape Girardeau Police Department was investigating the robbery at press time. Officers were not able to provide much information about the crime at the fast food restaurant at 2101 Willam St.
The suspects were armed, officer Dimechi Herring said. The department could not at 10:20 p.m. provide information about how much money was taken, how the men got away or whether both were armed, Herring said.
Police investigators were still at the scene interviewing witnesses to determine the sequence of events. More information about the robbery will be available on Friday, Herring said.
A Cape Girardeau man was injured Tuesday in a Stoddard County accident when his car ran off the roadway.
Michael T. Brawley, 21, was driving his 2005 Honda westbound on County Road 518 west of Tanner when he lost control of the vehicle and it overturned, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Brawley was taken to Missouri Delta Hospital in Sikeston, where he was treated and released. Brawley was cited for careless and imprudent driving.
