Jackson alumni directory being compiled now

The Jackson School District is trying to compile an alumni directory to help the Alumni Panel and school foundation organize class reunions. The directory will be on sale in August. Alumni should have received a postcard asking them to verify their contact information. To verify information or for graduates who didn't receive a postcard, call 800-673-3215. The tentative deadline to update information is April 7. See www.jackson-alumni.org for more information or call the district at 243-9501. Registering on the Alumni Web site will not get graduates in the directory; they must call.

HURT coming to Show Me Center Feb. 21

The Show Me Center announced Thursday that a fourth modern rock act has been added to its Feb. 21 dual headlining concert from Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin. Los Angeles alternative band HURT will join South African post-grunge group Seether as the openers for the show. HURT scored two radio hits, "Rapture" and "Falls Apart," in 2006 and another with "Ten Ton Brick" in 2007. For more information on the concert, go to www.showmecenter.biz or call 651-5000.

Voter cards mailed to Scott County residents

BENTON, Mo. -- Scott County Clerk Rita Milam's office has mailed out voter registration cards. Those who are expecting a card and don't receive one soon should check with the county clerk's office by calling 573-545-3549. Milam also said her office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 2 for absentee voting in the Feb. 5 presidential primary election.
