'Most Wanted' segment pushed back a week

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The segment of Fox TV's "America's Most Wanted" featuring Naomi Betts, the Sikeston woman arrested on suspicion of robbing an Indianapolis bank, has been delayed a week. Sikeston police chief Drew Juden said he was told the program has been rescheduled to appear June 19 instead of Saturday. Betts was arrested on camera in Sikeston last week in connection with the robbery of the Fifth Third Bank of Indianapolis.

Stop sign added in uptown Jackson

The intersection of Adams and Missouri streets in uptown Jackson has been made a four-way stop. The Jackson Board of Aldermen voted Monday to add the stop signs on Adams. City officials say the intersection had a high rate of accidents, partially due to limited visibility and some motorists' expectations that traffic on Adams would stop, because most intersections in the area are four-way.

Municipal band's first concert of season today

The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band will hold its first concert of the season at 8 p.m. today at Capaha Park. Selections include "Strike up the Band" and "Diamond Heritage Overture."

Memphis man runs off interstate, hits rock

A man from Memphis, Tenn., sustained minor injuries at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 55 four miles north of Fruitland. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jerad Noble, 23, was cut off by an unknown vehicle, causing him to lose control of his car, run off the road and strike a large rock. He was taken to St. Francis Medical Center.

Oak Ridge teen injured in head-on collision

Cape Girardeau firefighters responded Tuesday to help free a 16-year-old driver from her 1991 Buick following a two-vehicle collision on County Road 419 west of Friedheim, close to the Perry County line. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Amanda King of Oak Ridge sustained serious injuries just before noon when her car collided at a curve with a 1997 Ford pickup driven by Scott Kirn, 39, of Friedheim. King was driving on the wrong side of the road, the patrol said. The fire department was called at 12:14 p.m. to extricate King. She was freed by 1:20 p.m. and then flown to St. Francis Medical Center. Kirn was not injured.
