The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents will set incidental and residence hall fees for the 1996-1997 academic year when it meets at 1:45 p.m. Monday in the University Center Ballroom.
Christie L. Johnson of Cooter will be sworn in as the new student regent at 1:30 p.m. She replaces Jennifer Bertrand of Scott City, whose term expired. Johnson was appointed by Gov. Mel Carnahan and confirmed by the Missouri Senate.
The meeting was scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., but was moved back because of the death of university President Dr. Bill Atchley's mother.
Mary Atchley, 87, of Matthews died Friday. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
At the regents meeting, university officials will ask the board to approve an $8.36 million budget for the residence hall system for fiscal 1997, textbook rental fees, and designated general fees. The fees include a new student computing fee, which will take effect with the fall 1996 semester.
The regents will consider rental rates for student apartment houses at 401 and 505 Washington, which would take effect with the fall 1996 semester; awarding a contract to a consultant to review how the school governs itself, adopting policies for an alcohol and drug-free workplace, and prevention of alcohol and drug abuse, and selecting a site for a shuttle bus storage and operations facility.
The regents will discuss a directional signs project and a report from Mackey Mitchell Zahner Associates, consultants hired to help develop a campus master plan.
