Crack open a PBR and put on your sleeveless shirt -- the Monster Truck Winternationals are coming!
On Feb. 10 and 11 the Show Me Center will be abuzz with good ole boys whooping it up for their favorite Monster make.
Show Me Center marketing director Brad Gentry said the annual tradition is one of the venue's most popular events. Last year both nights of the show sold out and more seats had to be brought in to accommodate the overflow.
And each year fans scream for their favorite auto make -- Ford, Chevy, Dodge. The parking lot will be full of those little stickers with the guy taking a whiz.
Not only will the big boys race and crush junkers, but locals will get their chance to race their own trucks on an obstacle course and take on fellow daredevils in ATV quad races.
Here's a preview of the mechanical monsters that will pack the Show Me Center.
Demon
The power of Satan is strong with this one -- a 2006 Dodge from New Jersey, land of all that is unholy. Demon, now in its third incarnation, is said to be one of the most state-of-the-art monsters today by owner Richie Blackburne.
Predator and Prowler
Two cat-inspired monsters owned by the same guy. In a super corny move, he decided to shape one of the Monsters' hoods like a cat head, with fangs and all. Whatever works, right?
Sudden Impact
This Ford is driven by a near-rookie driver from New Orleans. Of course, we could make some quip about Impact being mad about the hurricane, but we won't go there.
Monkey'N Around
It would be an abomination if this Monster didn't have a dumb cartoon monkey painted on the side -- which it does. This big Dodge comes from Florida sporting tropical blues and sea green as its colors.
But with sissy colors like that, the truck probably has a lot to prove, much like the Seattle Seahawks.
