REDIGER RECEIVES LIMBAUGH AWARD

Harry Rediger, the manager of the JCPenney store in Cape Girardeau, was honored Friday night by the Chamber of Commerce for his longtime service to the community.

Rediger was presented the Rush H. Limbaugh Sr. Award, which is given each year to someone who has a record of longtime achievement in helping the community.

The award was presented by David Limbaugh, the grandson of 100-year-old Rush Limbaugh Sr., for whom the award is named. The presentation highlighted the annual meeting of the chamber, attended by over 700 people at the Show Me Center.

Rediger has played a leadership role in a number of civic organizations such as the Cape Area United Way and Vision 2000. He is a member of the chamber board and is chairman of the Finance Task Force of Project Partnership with the Cape Girardeau public schools.

Jack Mehner, president of Advanced Business Systems, received the chamber's first "Small Business of the Year" award, which will be presented annually by the Small Business/Business Research Committee.

Harry Rust, chairman of the board of directors of the chamber, presented the award.

Chamber President Bob Hendrix noted that the award was established to recognize many of the outstanding small businesses in Cape Girardeau.

Bart Ozbun, of Boatmen's Bank, was presented the "Go-Getter Award" by Rust, for leading the chamber in new membership sales during 1991.
