The Red House Interpretive Center has scheduled the following upcoming events:
* 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 6, Sons of the American Revolution will discuss history on the porch; opening of the new exhibit, "Lorimier's: A MŽtis Trader Family on the Missouri Frontier," will continue until 4 p.m. and be available during regular hours and by special arrangement for groups through the Convention and Visitors Bureau at 335-1631. The exhibit features period costumes mixing European and American Indian styles as described in primary source accounts and researched and executed by Linda Nash, director of exhibits at the Red House.
* 2 p.m. May 7, Cape Central Fiddle Team will perform on the porch of the Red House. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.
* 7 p.m. May 9, Cape County Genealogy Society will hold a workshop for descendants of the 1803 census list. Learn about the early settlers of the Cape Girardeau district.
* May 13, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Cape Girardeau Public Library presents historical family readings on the porch; 11:30 a.m. Chief Paul White Eagle will tell stories. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.
* 10 to 4 p.m. May 20, arts and crafts on the porch, local artists and craft people will demonstrate.
* 10 to 4 p.m. May 27, Sewing Basket/River Heritage Quilt Guild will demonstrate sewing and handwork.
