Notre Dame Regional High School wants to thank some of its former teachers and principals who are members of the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
A reception and dedication service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the school. A grotto in the school's foyer will be dedicated to the nuns.
For 72 years, the sisters have served at the school by teaching or as staff members. About 20 nuns are expected to attend the service. They will travel to Cape Girardeau from St. Louis for the afternoon.
Former principal Sister Mary Ann Fischer, who retired at the end of the last school year, is expected to attend also.
Current Notre Dame faculty will also attend a special luncheon for the sisters prior to the reception and prayer service.
A display of items pertaining to the School Sisters of Notre Dame will be exhibited in the school library.
