ORAN -- Richard Daniel of Oran has been named a semifinalist in the 1993 Coca-Cola Scholars Program.
The 1,780 semifinalists were chosen for leadership, character and achievement in school and community.
Semifinalists must complete additional materials, which will be screened by the foundation's program review committee.
If selected as one of the 150 Coca-Cola Scholars, the semifinalist will attend a national competition in Atlanta from April 1-3 to compete for designation as a national or regional scholar. The 50 national scholars will receive awards of $20,000 and the 100 regional scholars will receive $4,000.
