CHAFFEE, Mo. -- A snake surprised school officials after football practice Friday morning at Chaffee High School.
Superintendent Ken Latham said a python that was 4 to 5 feet long was discovered at the football field while Latham and football coach Charlie Vickery were at the field.
Vickery saw something on a wall, and the two investigated and found the snake. They were able to get the snake trapped in a trash can within a few minutes. The owners apparently lived nearby, and they claimed the pet snake.
